Pastor Mark serves as our Gap Pastor while we complete the search for our open position. He comes to us from nearby Berlin, Maryland. Pastor Mark earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Penn State University and his Master of Divinity from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. He also obtained his Master’s in Patient Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University. Pastor Mark began his career at The Lehigh Valley Center for Independent Living in Allentown, PA (a nonprofit service agency advocating for the rights of persons with disabilities) and later served as a Chaplain Resident at Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems in Richmond, VA. Pastor Mark was the Solo Pastor in Shared Ministry for the First Presbyterian Church of Gilbertsville & Garrattsville, NY, from 2011 to 2020, and most recently as the Solo Pastor of Buckingham Presbyterian Church. He and his wife, Aimee, have recently moved to Ashburn and are excited to serve God together with the BPC family for this season of dreaming and discerning all that God has planned for us. They have two adult sons: Lucas, 25 (D.C.), and Samuel, 23 (Miami, FL).

They also have two pets: Jersey, a Red Tick Coon/Australian Shepherd mix (if you hear barking, it’s probably her), and a tabby cat named Elvis Kenobi (who ain’t nuthin but a hound dog Jedi).
