A Month of Generous Gratitude | Sermon Series

Autumn is here! This is clear from the bright-colored leaves on the trees - and their crunch under our feet – as we walk in the cool crisp breeze. Every change of season comes with opportunities to stop and breathe, reflect, and pray and say: “Thank you, God, for your generous blessings!” Perhaps this is most true in autumn as it includes the Thanksgiving holiday – a day set aside to intentionally recognize our many God-given blessings. This November, we at BPC are invited to give God thanks EVERY DAY - and in many ways - for the great blessing of being called together as a church.
We celebrate the “feast” of All Saints and by doing so, we remember and give thanks for all the saints who have journeyed alongside us and blessed us through their faithful Christian witness. These saints can be those "above" - now at home in their heavenly abode - and/or those saints who remain among us - supporting us, caring for us, and sharing with us in this life. All Saints recognizes our eternal connection with one another – past and present and forever - in Christ. Let's come together with thankful hearts for the larger communion of saints with which we live, love, and worship the living God in prayer, song, and the sacrament of holy communion.

BPC friends, let’s gather in November to give thanks! Invite others to come and praise and serve in God’s name.
All together now—applause for God! Sing songs to the tune of his glory, set glory to the rhythms of his praise. Say of God, “We’ve never seen anything like him!”
