A Season of Epiphanies | Sermon Series

  • Jan 4
  • 1 min read

The church celebrates the Feast of the Epiphany on January 6 - the time when “wise men from the East” came to worship the Christ child. But did you know that the Church celebrates the Epiphany not only for a day – but for an entire season? The Season of Epiphany lasts all the way until Lent (Ash Wednesday, 2/18). This special season is a time for growing spiritually in a way in which we may begin to understand our faith in a new or clearer way.

Theologian Bruce Epperly calls this a “spirituality of Epiphany” and says: “A spirituality of Epiphany reminds us that every path can become a holy adventure with surprises and epiphanies around every corner…

During this season of Epiphany let’s ask: What epiphanies might you hope to make – be they through prayer, Bible study, or engaging in conversations about our faith? Where are you beginning this Season of Epiphany – and where would you like to arrive? What different roads might you take to help get you there and thrive? With help from the Gospel and the Apostle Paul – let’s take the journey together, sharing what we find in the beautiful epiphany story of our faith in Christ.
